(Newser) – Both the location of Chelsea Clinton's July 31 wedding and the guest list are under intense scrutiny and impenetrable secrecy, New York reports. The reception is limited to 400 guests, a tiny portion of the Clinton network, so Chelsea has instituted a no-strangers policy—she must actually know every invitee. No word on whether her intended, investment banker Marc Mezvinsky, has a similar rule.

The location is being kept under wraps—“The wedding planner will contact each guest directly a week in advance and let them know where it is,” a source says. The Hamptons reportedly are out, because of traffic concerns. More likely is a location in upstate New York, such as Westchester or Dutchess County. Also not on the guest list are Bill Clinton's love handles: Chelsea has instructed her dad to slim down for the reception. (Read more Chelsea Clinton stories.)
