A dinner cruise on a Missouri lake showboat turned into a 17-hour ordeal for 643 passengers and crew Saturday night. The Branson Belle was stranded overnight, wrenched against the shore of Table Rock Lake after running aground due to strong winds and choppy water, the News-Leader reports. Drinking and gambling is banned on the boat, so passengers had little choice but to bed down where they could and wait for response crews to bulldoze a path to the boat's remote location. They were finally able to leave around 9am.
