Former University of Virginia lacrosse player George Huguely is heading to trial in the murder of his on-again, off-again girlfriend and fellow student Yeardley Love. A Charlottesville grand jury today indicted the 23-year-old on murder charges, reports the Daily Progress, almost a year after Love was found dead in her apartment of blunt force head trauma.

Huguely faces charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, robbery, burglary, statutory burglary, and grand larceny; he'll likely stand trial in 2012. He has remained in custody since Love's body was found May 3, 2010. Click for the defense's theory on what really killed Love, or more on George Huguely and the case. (More George Huguely stories.)
