A hiker in South Carolina died after plummeting 125 feet in an attempt to save his dog, the AP reports. The dog stumbled on a ledge while on a hike with architect David Lewis and Lewis' girlfriend. When Lewis sought to save his pet—who regained its footing and survived—he tumbled down a waterfall. His girlfriend was bruised trying to rescue him, a coroner said. (More hikers stories.)
