The mother of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s illegitimate child didn’t willingly retire from her job with the family—according to one report she was, as Radar gleefully writes, "terminated." Schwarzenegger fired her about four weeks ago in an attempt to save his marriage, sources say, and she in turn threatened to take their affair and his love child public. The former Schwarzenneger maid, recently revealed as Mildred “Patty” Baena, was "furious" that he would "callously fire her from her job after decades of loyal service”—and after she kept his little secret—says a friend, who mentions that the love child is now 14.

As a result, of course, Schwarzenegger decided to admit his indiscretion publicly. But TMZ insists Radar's sources are wrong, and calls Baena "unwavering in her support" of Arnie. When the gossip site and the Los Angeles Times nosed around for information before the story broke, Baena denied the former governor fathered her son. So why did Schwarzenegger come forward, then? TMZ credits itself, claiming he simply knew how close the story was to breaking. Click for more on the scandal. (More Arnold Schwarzenegger stories.)
