Pakistan Lets CIA Scour bin Laden House

Pakistan has given the CIA its blessing to search Osama bin Laden’s compound for anything American forces may have missed during their clandestine night raid. An agency forensics team is expected to land in Abbottabad in a matter of days, armed with high-tech equipment designed to sniff out anything bin Laden might have buried or squirreled away in the walls, the Washington Post reports.

“The assault team was there for only 40 minutes,” one US official said, so this gives the US a chance “to do another, more thorough, look.” Pakistani intelligence chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha agreed to the search after a meeting with a CIA deputy director last week—in part because Pakistan doesn’t have the equipment to conduct such a sweep itself.
