You can't go home again—especially if it was never really your house. An 18-year-old man, his 15-year-old girlfriend, and her family were found in a stranger's multi-million dollar lake house in upstate New York. Todd Blauvelt Jr. apparently convinced everyone that he inherited the house from his late grandfather, reports the Democrat and Chronicle. The ruse lasted only an hour until the real owner showed up.

Blauvelt had previously taken other friends to the house under the same pretense and said his father refused to give him a key. "That justified him snooping around looking for a hidden key,” a State Police investigator tells the D&C. “Eventually, he was lucky enough to find one. He even made copies.” The girlfriend and her family were not charged, but Blauvelt is charged with second-degree burglary along with sexual misconduct because of his relationship with the underage girl.
