Several pundits declared Tim Pawlenty the loser of Monday’s GOP debate, after he backed off his sweet “ObamneyCare” jab, and Stephen Colbert is upset. “Forget ObamneyCare,” he quipped, “I want to know how Minnesota’s health care plan keeps Tim Pawlenty alive without a spine.” Stephen’s conclusion: Pawlenty’s angling for a vice presidential nod. “Why else would he have let Mitt mount him like a silverback gorilla?”

And hey, Pawlenty’s got VP-caliber economic ideas, like the “Google Test," which Colbert thinks could eliminate the entire government. “Who needs the Department of Transportation to maintain our nation’s highways, when I can just Google R DePasquale & Sons Paving? It says right on their website, ‘No paving job is too big.’” Why heck, you could even Google Pawlenty himself! “And if I can Google Tim Pawlenty, that means he’s absolutely unnecessary in government,” Colbert says, “which makes him the perfect vice president.” (More Stephen Colbert stories.)
