Strange coincidence in Rochester, New York: Police busted out their rulers (literally) and issued a slew of tickets to cars parked even an inch beyond regulation from the curb. The coincidence part? It happened outside a community meeting to question police action in the arrest of Emily Good, who videotaped a traffic stop from her front lawn. (Click to see that video, which is going viral.) Boing Boing picks up on a video of the parking crackdown originally posted at Rochester Indymedia. Click on either link to watch.

"Needless to say, the 12-inch ordinance isn't normally enforced with this kind of vigor," writes Cory Doctorow at Boing Boing. (More Rochester stories.)
