Official proceedings against News Corporation are about to extend across the pond. Legal action over the company’s phone hacking scandal will take place in New York City, a British lawyer to many of the hacking victims tells the AP. He has hired Norman Siegel to fight the case against Rupert Murdoch’s firm; Siegel also represents a number of 9/11 families, the AP notes. Lawyers will likely start work on the case within the week, Lewis says; hearings may not begin for a few months. (More News Corp stories.)
