And not because she'd be a great candidate

Get over it, America: Chris Christie is not running for president. The governor said as much Tuesday night; when asked if he was running, he sent people to a two-minute Politico clip full of unequivocal denials. And yet? The media reaction looked like this. Jon Stewart is aghast. “He said no! And if I remember from my freshman dorm orientation correctly, no means no,” he said on the Daily Show last night. “No, aww, c’mon baby, can’t we just form an exploratory committee?”

Sarah Palin, meanwhile, offered a real non-denial, telling Fox she couldn’t decide if the title of president was “worth it,” since she might not be able to fire off her “Maverick” views. “You’d be the (bleep)ing president!” Stewart cried. “Here’s the thing. You can have a colorful bus and drive to early primary states, or you can go around telling people what you would do if you were president. But when you put those two together, there’s really only two possibilities. You are either running for president of the United States… or you are a crazy person.” (More Jon Stewart stories.)
