A toddler tumbled into a Utah river and was underwater for some 20 minutes before she was pulled out. At first, health workers didn't think she'd survive a day, a neighbor says; the next day, doctors feared a brain injury. But 2-year-old Avery Allen's MRI looks normal, and her family says has an excellent prognosis, KSL reports. "She has made a miraculous recovery thus far," says neighbor Trisha Linford.

"Our neighborhood has just rallied together," says Linford, who has organized a fundraiser. "We’ve had planning meetings; we’ve had thousands of people asking how they can help and donate ... (They've been) praying and fasting for this little girl." Some $5,000 has been raised in 24 hours, Linford notes, and homes in South Jordan have been adorned with pink ribbons in Avery's honor. A Facebook page shows tributes all over town—and beyond. (Read more uplifting news stories.)
