An Illinois TV anchor has shared some deeply personal news with viewers: Brain cancer has left him with just four to six months to live. He can't have surgery or radiation because the tumor is too big, he said on WCIA-TV, as the AP reports. But he's not giving up on life. "I believe that I’m in God’s hands. I am at peace and I know he’s going to take care of the days ahead and that the goal here is to have the best ones possible," he said in upbeat tones, as Mediaite notes. He hopes that chemotherapy can bring "a few more days," and he plans to "make them the best they can be in the life that I have." In the meantime, "I'm dedicated to (continuing) working. I'll be here bringing you the news as long as I am able," he says on the station's site. (Read more uplifting news stories.)
