Getting a little tipsy and making cookies could, in theory, be fun. But not so much if you get so drunk you fall asleep ... and your four kids are in the apartment at the time ... and the smoke from the burning cookies sets off a fire alarm and causes a neighbor to call 911. That's what allegedly happened to 28-year-old Caitlin Marie Patterson yesterday, and she was arrested after firefighters responded to her Muncie, Ind., apartment around 1:30am. Firefighters found her asleep in bed and her—thankfully unharmed—kids in the living room, the Star Press reports.

A witness says there were no visible flames, but that the apartment was "very smoky inside and smelled bad." As for Patterson, police say she "staggered" and "swayed as she stood," and that her BAC was 0.115 (the state's BAC limit for driving is 0.08). Oh, and they found marijuana on her bed, too, they add. CPS was called and the kids are with their grandma; Patterson has been preliminarily charged with four counts of neglect of a dependent and possession of marijuana. (More weird crimes stories.)
