'Adorable' Suspected Drug Dealer Has DEA Agent Dad
Sarah Furay   (Brazos County Jail)

It turns out the 19-year-old college student dubbed an "adorable drug kingpin" by the media is also the daughter of a veteran DEA agent, Death and Taxes reports. According to the Houston Chronicle, Sarah Furay was arrested in Texas last month after police allegedly found a good amount of ecstasy, cocaine, pot, meth, and "an LSD-like product" in her apartment. Her smiling mugshot immediately went viral. On Thursday, the DEA confirmed that her father, Bill Furay, is one of its agents and currently on a diplomatic assignment to Panama.

Death and Taxes wonders if that is why Furay was released the day after her arrest on a "remarkably low bond of $38,000." In addition to the drugs, police reportedly found a handwritten list of prices for them and cellphone records that indicate Furay was dealing. After Furay's mugshot went viral, a number of news sources apologized for their "flippant" coverage, a tone that isn't afforded to people of color when they're arrested on similar charges.
