Authorities say a 34-year-old North Carolina woman will be charged with murder once she's released from the hospital following a "domestic incident" on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus that resulted in the death of her 5-year-old son, WNCN reports. According to the Herald-Sun, the incident happened just before midnight Saturday in a housing complex for graduate students and their families. In a 911 call from the complex, a man tells the dispatcher his wife stabbed him in the face while he was sleeping. The caller says his wife stabbed him many times before he got the knife away from her. “It’s bleeding really bad. I’m about to pass out,” People quotes the man as saying before going quiet.

Both Ebony Oluwasegva and her 32-year-old husband, UNC graduate student Victor Oluwasegva, were hospitalized with injuries following the incident. Ebony Oluwasegva's 5-year-old son, Israel, died. District Attorney Jim Woodall said Monday that Ebony Oluwasegva would be charged with murder, attempted murder, and possibly other crimes upon her release from the hospital. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. A neighbor in the housing complex tells the Herald-Sun the crime "was really shocking to me because it is really quiet here."
