The dramatic rescue of a trapped 3-year-old girl and her grandmother from a house fire in Missouri was captured on police body cam video. The Hazelwood Police Department says a policeman identified only as Officer Rodriguez arrived on the scene before the fire department Friday, observed that the home's main floor was already ablaze, and heard cries from the basement, Fox2 reports. Grandmother Latonya Hart had been trying to push 3-year-old Harmony out of a small, partially open basement window. Rodriguez kicked the window in "and was able to pull the child out of the window and take her to safety," police said in a Facebook post.

"Rodriguez returned to the window and with the help of a neighbor, was able to pull the homeowner to safety as well," police said. Harmony and her grandmother were treated at the scene for minor cuts but did not require hospitalization. "When I knew someone was right there, to help me get her out there, my whole mood changed," Hart tells KMOV. "I was like, thank you Lord, thank you God, somebody is here." All her family's belonging were destroyed, but "I'm just so grateful that we made it out and we're alive," she says. (More Missouri stories.)
