The son of Tarzan actor Ron Ely fatally stabbed his mother on Tuesday then immediately blamed his father, according to police and audio recordings. In emergency dispatch audio from the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office obtained by the Blast, the dispatcher tells officers a male caller hung up after claiming his father tried to attack his mother. Upon phoning back, the male sounded "out of breath, unintelligible" and as though he were crying, the dispatcher said, per People. Once on the scene in Hope Ranch, a deputy noted an elderly man, later identified as 81-year-old Ely, had implicated the couple's son Cameron in the fatal stabbing of 62-year-old Valerie.

Located outside of the home, Cameron, 30, was killed by deputies, who said he posed a threat. No one else was said to be at the home during the incident. Ely and Valerie, a former flight attendant and beauty queen, also have two daughters: Kirsten, 34, and Kaitland, 32, per People. In 2014, the actor and novelist told the Fresno Bee that he had "stepped out of acting to raise a family and be able to spend more time with them" but "now, all the kids are through college with advance degrees." Heavy.com reports Cameron attended Harvard, where he was quarterback for the Crimson. (More homicide stories.)
