(AP Photo/Troy Maben) (Associated Press) Idaho Sen. Larry Craig held a press conference this morning to announce his resignation at the end of September. Noting the presence of his family and Gov. Butch Otter behind him, he said, "For any public official at this moment in time to be standing with Larry Craig is, in itself, a humbling experience." Craig apologized for "what I have caused." He did not acknowledge the charges to which he pleaded guilty last month, stemming from a bathroom sex sting. The three-term Senator has denied he is gay, and claimed the undercover officer who arrested him misinterpreted his actions as solicitation. Craig said he was resigning because it would be impossible to serve his constituents in the Senate while pursuing his legal options.
