Turns out President Obama did not call Tiger Woods to offer the golfer moral support amid the media firestorm that followed news of his infidelity. Golf Digest today retracted that claim in a statement, saying, “Our mistake was due to a misunderstanding between the writer and a trusted source.” The magazine stands by its claim (in its story here) that former President Bill Clinton phoned Woods.
