New York City police believe a troubled teen slit the throats of his two sisters before setting the family home on fire and cutting his own throat. The mother and 2-year-old brother of 14-year-old CJ Jones also perished in the Staten Island blaze. CJ was found with a straight razor under his body in the torched home. The throats of his sisters Brittany, 10, and Melony, 7, were also slashed, police sources tell the New York Daily News.

"It ranks up there as some of the more heinous acts we’ve seen,” a longtime Fire Department investigator tells the New York Times. “It’s pretty horrific.” CJ had been recently suspended from school for assaulting an assistant principal, and had been ejected from an area swimming pool for lighting a fire the day before his home went up in flames. Neighbors say they saw the teen setting pieces of paper on fire outside the home the same evening.
