Nine Sequels Set for 2011 We Don't Need
Does this really need a sequel?   (Amazon.com)

There are some movies that really, really don't need sequels ... but they're getting them anyway. Kate Torgovnick lists nine flicks inexplicably getting follow-ups next year, on The Frisky:

  • Shakespeare in Love: Just because this film won Gwyneth Paltrow an Oscar doesn't mean we need to know what happened next.
  • Swingers: It just won't be "as fun with Vince and Jon looking older and much more bloated than they used to."

  • Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure: "Too bad George Carlin won’t be around to resurrect the role of Rufus."
  • Pineapple Express: "I take it as a very bad sign that Judd Apatow is recycling a movie idea."
Click for the complete list, including one that is sure to be "the disappointment of the year."
