Facebook wants privacy?

Jon Stewart went after Mark Zuckerberg last night, arguing that Facebook is using its deal with Goldman Sachs to delay going public, since doing so would force the company to be more transparent (though that theory may not, in fact, be true). What nerve. "Mark Zuckerberg doesn't want to be transparent, the guy who shares my photos with the whole world unless I change my privacy settings every half hour." Continues Stewart, playing Zuckerberg, “We will not rest until everyone in the world is walking around naked holding out their passport, shouting out their children’s names and locations. But—but—don’t look at our financial books. That’s private."

As for speculation that Goldman’s investment allows Facebook to skirt transparency rules: “Oh Goldman. Is there any regulation’s intent you can’t subvert?”
