Clinton: al-Jazeera's 'Real News' Beats US Media

It actually informs people, unlike American outlets, she says

She probably didn't set out to play media critic in her testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, but Hillary Clinton delivered a stinging rebuke of the quality of TV news in America, notes the Huffington Post. "Viewership of al-Jazeera is going up in the United States because it's real news," she said in a discussion of how the US was losing the "information war" in the world. Her takedown:

"You may not agree with it," she said of al-Jazeera, "but you feel like you're getting real news around the clock instead of a million commercials and, you know, arguments between talking heads and the kind of stuff that we do on our news which, you know, is not particularly informative to us, let alone foreigners."
