Live, from your computer, it's ... YouTube? The online video giant announced yesterday that it is moving into live streaming, with the official launch of YouTube Live. Its first major event will be a live broadcast of the Coachella music festival starting Friday. YouTube has broadcast one-off events in the past, such as a U2 concert, a State of the Union address, and Indian cricket. But the new service will allow certain partners to stream content themselves. "The goal is to provide thousands of partners with the capability to live stream from their channels in the months ahead," a YouTube spokesman tells the Telegraph. (More YouTube stories.)
