Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall underwent surgery after being stabbed in the abdomen by his wife, police say. Marshall's agent tells the Miami Herald that the wound isn't life-threatening and that he's expected to fully recover. Police charged Michi Nogami-Marshall with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in a domestic dispute. She said she used the kitchen knife in self-defense.

Marshall himself gave investigators a different story, saying that he slipped and fell on a broken glass vase. His wife, however, admitted stabbing him. "Both the victim and defendant provided scant information regarding the incident itself," said the police report. Marshall has a long rap sheet, including previous arrests on domestic violence charges, notes the Herald. The Dolphins can't comment too much—team officials are prohibited from talking to Marshall because of the current lockout. (More Brandon Marshall stories.)
