LeBron James has been called one of basketball’s greatest since his high school days, and we’d probably have no problem believing it—if he didn’t open his mouth so much. In fact, his ugly reaction to Miami Heat's homecourt loss in the 2011 finals is just the tip of his egomaniacal iceberg. BleacherReport pulled together a list of James’ most jaw-dropping quotes throughout his career:

  • “A LeBron James team is never desperate,” James said during the 2008 Eastern Conference Semis. James' Cavs were probably exactly that after losing the series a few days later.

  • “If there was an opportunity for me to return, and those fans welcome me back, that would be a great story.” James said of Cleveland. Great, however, purely unbelievable.
  • “Cleveland fans are awesome, but I mean, even my family gets spoiled at times watching me doing things that I do, on and off the court,” James told GQ. Yes, LeBron, we're all in awe of your greatness...
  • “I’m only one guy…If I could clone myself, we’d be all right. But I can’t," James said during the 2009 Eastern Conference Semis. The prospect of another LeBron James? The mind reels.
