Jon Stewart Lashes 'Lying Dynasty' Fox

The non-partisan fact-checkers at Politifact have rated his assertion that Fox News viewers are the most consistently misinformed viewers false, Jon Stewart acknowledged on the Daily Show last night. Some studies have shown Fox viewers to be the most misinformed but others have rated viewers of some specific Fox shows to be informed, in some cases outranking Daily Show viewers, Stewart admitted before proceeding to take a look at how Fox scores on Politifact's "Truth-o-Meter."

The Truth-o-Meter unmasks Fox as a "lying dynasty" and the "New England Patriots of lying," Stewart said, rattling off a list of Fox-reported falsehoods including Politifact's Lie of the Year for 2009—"The health care bill includes death panels"—and 2010: "The health care bill is a government takeover of health care." Fox has "a lot of f***ing correcting to do," said Stewart. (More Politifact stories.)
