Lobbyists Scramble to Sign Libyan Rebels

The fall of Moammar Gadhafi’s regime should be a huge boon—for K Street. Lobbyists are scrambling to get an in with the Transitional National Council, the rebel government that the US has now recognized as legitimate, the National Journal reports. Two firms are already working for the TNC, and they're giving it a sweet deal—one lobbyist group is actually working pro bono—in the hopes of securing a long-term multimillion dollar gig.

Their goal: to snag the TNC some portion of the $35 billion in Moammar Gadhafi-related funds currently frozen by the US government. Other lobbyists, meanwhile, are hastily and publicly severing any ties with Gadhafi’s fallen regime.
