Harry Reid keeps speculating that Mitt Romney hasn't paid taxes in 10 years, and Romney would like him to stop, please. “Well, it’s time for Harry to put up or shut up,” Romney told Sean Hannity's radio show today, according to the Daily Caller. “Harry’s going to have to describe who it is he spoke with because that’s totally and completely wrong." In fact, Romney said the White House is likely behind the rumors.

Reid won't divulge, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "I am not basing this on some figment of my imagination," he said yesterday. "I have had a number of people tell me that." One Romney adviser likened the accusation to McCarthyism, reports the Hill, and Jon Stewart blasted the "terrible" Reid last night, notes Mediaite. Still, Politico's Maggie Haberman finds it odd that Romney used the "put up or shut up" line. After all, he's the one being asked to put up his taxes. Only then will people shut up with the speculation. (More Harry Reid stories.)
