When a South Carolina woman heard a thump from her ceiling Saturday night, she assumed it was an animal. Instead, her sons and an adult nephew went into the attic to find … the woman's ex-boyfriend, who had been living there. "He had packed all the old coats and jackets into the heating unit and was sleeping in the heating unit," she tells WCNC. And, apparently, he was taking care of business in fast food drink cups, because police found Sonic cups full of feces and urine. Just when you thought it couldn't get more gross: They also found ceiling vents that had been rigged so that the man could peep into the woman's bedroom.

The man ran off before police arrived and has not been caught. He and the woman had been in a relationship years back, and he worked on her home about one year ago. Then he was convicted of stealing her truck this year, and had just been released from the jail sentence he served for that offense when he apparently moved into her attic. The only entrance to the attic is in a hallway at the home, and police are trying to figure out how he got in and out. (More strange stuff stories.)
