A British couple who wanted to have their wedding at a ritzy five-star hotel found out in a not-so-pleasant way it wasn't going to happen—the hotel's wedding planner sent off this email to her boss and accidentally cc'd the couple:

  • "I know this probably doesn't sound very nice, but I am trying to put this wedding off as I don't think they are the type of people that we would want to have at Stoke Park."

The story made national headlines in Britain, and the couple chalked up their bad impression to Paul Carty's earrings and pierced eyebrow, reports the BBC. The Daily Mail, however, weighs in with the juicy tidbit that fiancee Pauline Bailey happens to be a star on an adult TV channel in the UK. It's not clear whether the Stoke Park staffer knew that, but the hotel has nonetheless disciplined her, apologized profusely, and extended an invite to the couple. They're going elsewhere, though, and a lawsuit might be in the works. Moral of the story remains: Watch those email cc's. (More email stories.)
