(Newser) – Jerry Sandusky has lost his first bid for a new trial. The former Penn State assistant football coach is serving a 30- to 60-year sentence for the sexual abuse of 10 boys. Sandusky lawyer Norris Gelman says the decision means the defense will appeal to the mid-level Superior Court. (Read more Jerry Sandusky stories.)
