Marquette got a dominant victory today, 92-66 over Notre Dame in what its coach called a "statement win." The 15th-ranked Golden Eagles forced the visitors into 24 turnovers and handed Fighting Irish coach Mike Brey his worst loss in seven seasons. Luke Harangody topped everybody with 29 points and 14 rebounds for the Irish. In other NCAA hoops:

  • No. 14 Butler won its eighth straight , getting 17 points from freshman Matt Howard in an easy win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Bulldogs' 16-1 mark is the best start in school history.
  • Xavier used man-to-man pressure to go on two extended point runs and put away Fordham 68-50. B.J. Raymond led the Musketeers with 20 points.
