Nicolas Sarkozy has finally made an honest woman out of his supermodel-cum-singer girlfriend, Reuters says. The French president married Carla Bruni, 40, today at the Elysee Palace in a hush-hush ceremony atypical for the usually public couple. The mayor of a Paris district who officiated the nuptials said the bride was “ravishing,” adding, “the bridegroom wasn’t bad either.”

Sarkozy split from his second wife, Cecilia, in October after 11 years and soon began seeing Bruni, who’s been linked to Mick Jagger and Donald Trump. The couple’s lavish holidays have mesmerized the media but irked the French, who see Sarkozy’s exploits as a distraction, Reuters says. Bruni has a son from a previous relationship; Sarkozy already has three sons. (More Nicolas Sarkozy stories.)
