There are infinite reasons to not go on a second date, but this tale of romance gone awry contains every single one of them: It seems that 53-year-old Leon Shaw of Washington state and his unnamed 47-year-old date went to a house party. Great. Alcohol was consumed. No problem. Enough alcohol was consumed that it seemed like a good idea for the lady in question to get a tattoo, so she asked another guy at the party—who was conveniently a tattoo artist— to give her a tattoo. And that, as Q13 Fox reports, was where everything flew completely off the rails.
Police say that somewhere in the course of the tattoo, the woman "became intimate" with the tattoo artist; this resulted in a fight between the latter and Shaw. The woman and Shaw traded a punch for a slap, adds the News Tribune, before she ran from the house—wearing just a T-shirt—and started up Shaw's truck with Shaw in pursuit. At this point, witnesses report hearing squealing tires and ran outside to find Shaw unresponsive on the ground; his date crashed a quarter-mile away. Shaw was pronounced dead at the scene, while his date remains in critical condition. Police tell the News Tribune that they're not sure whether she ran over him intentionally. "We still have some investigating to do," says a spokesman. (A California man is accused of killing his ex's dog and then serving it to her.)
