Fart Foul-Up: 5 Craziest Crimes of the Week
Dawn Meikle   (St. Lucie County Jail)

It's been a week of bizarre overreactions on the weird-crimes landscape:

  • This Story Is a Real Gas: Farts are always funny until somebody gets hurt. That's allegedly what happened to Florida man Donald Meikle at the hands of his own wife, Dawn, after cops say she went ballistic from nonstop flatulence that was so strong it "fluttered" the sheets. Read on to see how this slow leak turned into an explosion.
  • Woman Pulls a Mike Tyson on Her Husband: Cops responding to a domestic quarrel in St. Cloud, Minn., found a bloody apartment, an apparently intoxicated woman, and a piece of her husband's ear on the floor. Jamie Elrod, 37, only has her own mouth to blame for how she was busted. You also won't believe what they were supposedly fighting over.

  • Man Arrested Over Star Wars Spoilers: Someone really didn't want to know that Jabba the Hutt is Chewbacca's dad. Montana cops say 18-year-old Arthur Roy sent his friend a pic of himself with a gun and threatened to come to his school to shoot him after the friend revealed plot details of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Facebook. Roy was charged with felony assault—not the only charge he's facing. (We were kidding about Jabba and Chewie. Take it easy.)
  • Unlikely Driver Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase: When Michigan police got reports of a Nissan Altima driving erratically, a deputy found it and tried to pull it over. But the Altima sped away, weaving through traffic at high speed, until it finally spun out. Watch the cop's dashcam video to see who eventually made a run from the car—and to hear the officer's incredulous reaction.
  • Suspect's Unique Face Tattoo Gets Him Nailed: It wasn't difficult for cops to track down two suspects after an Oklahoma man called in a robbery attempt. First, one of the suspects was the victim's ex-girlfriend. Second, the other suspect sported face tattoos that are hard to miss, including horns tattooed on his forehead, a pair of lips on one cheek, and a very special message just for the police inked over his eyebrows.
