Crazy Quake Aftermath: 3 Stranded Cows
Three cows are stranded on an island of grass following an earthquake near Kaikoura, New Zealand.   (Newshub via AP)

It's one of the strangest post-earthquake images you'll see: three cows stranded on a small patch of grass after the earth all around them has fallen away. The scene is out of New Zealand, where a 7.8 magnitude quake has left at least two people dead and an estimated 1,000 tourists stranded as well. The cows, two adults and one calf, were spotted by a helicopter after landslides near Kaikoura, reports the New Zealand Herald. It was unclear when they might be rescued. (If only cows could text.)
