The White House is losing yet another communications director. The New York Times reports Hope Hicks announced her pending resignation from the Trump administration Wednesday. The 29-year-old Hicks is one of President Trump's longest-tenured advisers and one of the few aides to follow him from his company to his campaign to the presidency, according to CNN. Hicks joined the Trump campaign as a former model with no political experience only to become one of the most powerful people in the White House. She was Trump's "most loyal aide" and known as one of the few who could successfully challenge him. USA Today reports she was in charge of the president's image.

"There are no words to adequately express my gratitude to President Trump," Hicks said in a statement. Her resignation comes a day after her eight-hour testimony to the House Intelligence Committee during which she admitted her job serving Trump required her to tell "white lies." Sources tell the Times Hicks had been planning to resign prior to her testimony. She was also criticized recently for helping write the White House response to staff secretary Rob Porter, who was accused of domestic violence by two ex-wives, and encouraging others in the administration to defend him. She was dating Porter at the time. "Hope is outstanding and has done great work for the last three years," Trump said in a statement. "I will miss having her by my side." Hicks was Trump's fourth communications director, following Sean Spicer, Michael Dubke, and Anthony Scaramucci.
