What does rapper 21 Savage being taken into immigration custody have to do with Demi Lovato suddenly deleting her Twitter account? Nothing directly, but people apparently didn't like the pop singer tweeting about the former's status, and the backlash seems to have led to the latter. Per People, Lovato, 26, was online during Sunday's Patriot-Rams game, and she tweeted: "So far 21 savage memes have been my favorite part of the Super Bowl." The 21-year-old rapper (real name: Shayaa Bin Abraham-Joseph) was arrested earlier Sunday in what an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement spokesman called a "targeted operation"; Abraham-Joseph is reportedly a UK citizen who overstayed his visa by more than 12 years, and he's also said to have a felony drug conviction, per ICE.

Lovato put up a photo of someone writing with an old-fashioned feather pen, a reference to the rapper's British citizenship, with the caption, "This how 21 Savage be writing his verses." She noted his country of origin was what she was laughing about, not that he's likely about to be deported, but fans flocked online to take her to task for being insensitive. Another rapper, Wale, posted, "Why is somebody freedom funny … I don't get the joke," and he and Lovato had a bit of an exchange (documented on The Shade Room's Instagram) before she deleted her Twitter account. In an Instagram story, Lovato posted nasty comments she received about her own troubles—notably, her drug addiction and recent OD—as a result of her 21 Savage tweet. (More Demi Lovato stories.)
