President Trump continued his Mueller report victory lap with a rally in Michigan on Thursday night, where he ripped into the "fake news media," Democrats, and the FBI, among others, and declared that "the Russia hoax is finally dead." At the Grand Rapids rally—his first since Attorney General William Barr released his summary of the special counsel's report—the president slammed DC "elites" and listed ways in which he sees himself as better than them. "I have a better education than them, I'm smarter than them, I went to the best schools; they didn't. Much more beautiful house, much more beautiful apartment. Much more beautiful everything. And I'm president and they're not," he told the packed arena, per Fox News.
Donald Trump Jr., who warmed up the crowd, slammed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as unqualified, to shouts of "AOC sucks," reports USA Today. The president, who spoke for more than 80 minutes, heaped scorn on Democrats who called for investigations, particularly House Intelligence Committee chief Adam Schiff, the New York Times reports. "They’re on artificial respirators right now," he said. "They’re giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Little pencil-neck Adam Schiff. He's got the smallest, thinnest neck I’ve ever seen." Democrats, Trump said, "need to decide whether they will continue to defraud the public with ridiculous bulls***." The president, who won Michigan by fewer than 11,000 votes in 2016, also praised the "roaring" economy and spoke about local issues including Great Lakes restoration and bringing back auto companies, BuzzFeed reports.
