A woman driving through Philadelphia on Saturday night heard gunfire, so in trying to flee, she kept driving. When she stopped after about 10 minutes, WCAU reports, she saw bullet holes in her car and realized her 11-month-old stepdaughter had been shot. She rushed the girl to a hospital, where she was listed in critical condition Sunday morning. The girl had been shot once in the back of the head, once in the chest, and twice in the buttocks, per the Inquirer.

No arrests have been made in the shooting. Three men were shot nearby about an hour earlier, but police have not released any information about the investigation. "My heart is breaking right now," a neighbor of the stepmother says. "I don't know what to do." (More child shootings stories.)
