John Gotti Jr. was arrested today on murder conspiracy charges related to three decades-old killings, the New York Daily News reports. A lawyer dismissed the indictment brought in Florida against the son of the late Mafia boss. "I tend to think they don't have a lot of faith in this case," he says of federal prosecutors bringing charges that also include racketeering and trafficking.

Gotti, son of the infamous “Dapper Don,” was unsuccessfully tried three times in 2005 and 2006. It’s not clear where the new information against him comes from, but recent police raids have taken out family leadership, and Gotti’s lawyer claims “some low-level drug dealer who got in trouble down in Florida and doesn't want to go to jail” is the likely source.
