The NHL's Sean Avery is in hot water with the league for making crude comments regarding his famous ex-girlfriends, the New York Post reports. Avery, who plays for Dallas, summoned reporters before a game against Calgary and jokingly complained about other players going after his "sloppy seconds." He used to date 24 actress Elisha Cuthbert, who's now dating Calgary defenseman Dion Phaneuf. Avery's been suspended indefinitely.

"I just wanted to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds," said Avery. "I don't know what that's about." Avery also dated actress Rachel Hunter, who's now the girlfriend of Kings center Jarrett Stoll. League chief Gary Bettman suspended Avery for "inappropriate public comments." He'll meet with the former Ranger before deciding the length of the suspension.
