A former attorney for Caylee Anthony's grandparents says investigators think the remains of a young child found near her home belong to the missing 3-year-old, the Orlando Sentinel reports. But a lawyer for the Sherriff’s Department said they have not yet made even a tentative identification of the body. The judge in Anthony’s murder case also denied the defense a request to be present when the body is examined.

Though investigators declined to make a positive identification, they were glad to finally have a crime scene. “We were looking for a needle in a haystack, and we didn't even have the haystack,” a spokesman said. “Now we have a haystack.” The defense will be permitted to inspect the area where the body was found as early as tonight. The remains will soon be shipped to an FBI lab for DNA testing. (More Casey Anthony stories.)
