Right now, Megyn Kelly is anchoring a relatively unimportant midday news show on Fox—but expect to see her doing big things soon. “It can’t be news to Greta” Van Susteren, whose 10pm anchor contract expires at the end of the year, “that Kelly, her presentation sharp and jazzy, is more than ready for prime time,” writes Troy Patterson for Slate, declaring the “post-feminist news babe” to be “the future of Fox News.”

Kelly, whose clear plastic news desk offers a fantastic view of her legs, is “secure enough in her intelligence to be comfortably upfront about working her sex appeal,” seeming completely unfazed when colleagues and guests make seductive implications. But “you cannot write her off as a bimbo,” Patterson concludes. “She has a former lawyer's precision with language, an appetite for sparring, a natural understanding of news reading as performance art.”
