Boys, 10 and 11, on Trial for Rape
The trial at London's Old Bailey court is continuing.   (?wit)

Two of the youngest defendants in British history went on trial in London yesterday for the rape of an 8-year-girl. The girl, clutching a teddy bear, testified via videolink from a different room in the courthouse how the boys had taken her scooter away and said she wouldn't get it back unless she did as they asked. She said the boys, both aged 10 at the time, took her to several places before they exposed themselves to her and raped her, the Times of London reports.

"This case concerns rape by two boys still at primary school of a girl even younger than them," the prosecutor told the court. "Together they took her to different locations near where they lived in order to find a sufficiently secluded spot to assault her." The boys, one of whom is now 11, were seated next to their mothers in the courtroom, where the judge and lawyers had removed their customary wigs because of the young age of the victim and defendants. Both boys deny charges of rape and attempted rape.
