The well-to-do family of a 19-year-old Delhi woman who fell in love with a taxi driver from a lower caste responded to the couple's desire to marry by torturing them to death. Police say the woman and her boyfriend, 21, were bound, beaten and electrocuted, the Independent reports.

Neighbors tried to intervene after hearing screams but were sent away by the girl's uncle, who told them "family business" was being taken care of. One neighbor says he heard the young woman scream: "Do whatever you want to me, please just let him go." Her father and uncle were arrested the next day; other family members are still being sought. The woman's uncle confessed to the murder in court yesterday and told reporters he felt no remorse.
