Lady Gaga’s celibacy stance? Turns out it has something to do with a fear she has “that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina,” she tells Vanity Fair. In a candid cover interview, she goes on to confess she’s “perpetually lonely,” even when she’s in a relationship: “It’s my condition as an artist.” And her song, “Bad Romance”? Inspired by real life, because she is “drawn to bad romances.”

Gaga also recalls how her lowest point, at which she was using drugs, led her to her grandmother’s house—and the 82-year-old said, “You’re gonna pick yourself up, you’re gonna go back to New York, and you’re gonna kick some ass.” She doesn’t want fans “to ever emulate that”—though she admits she still does cocaine “a couple of times a year.” She also addresses her headline-making appearances at Mets and Yankees games: “Of course I got drunk at Yankee Stadium” and let her “slutty Italian girl” out.
