Anarchists in Great Britain—who wreaked havoc in protests in London on Saturday—will likely next target the April wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, say Scotland Yard officials. "That has been on my radar for a long time," says a police official in charge of security. "I will have different powers at my disposal to ensure that the wedding footprint is kept safe from protest. We will be putting in sterile zones, using counter-terrorist powers, closing roads and [using] stop and search powers."

The latest clashes "reinforced the fact that there does appear to be an appetite out there to endorse violence.” More than 200 people were arrested and 31 police officers injured over the weekend in violence led by anarchist fringe groups.
